Thomas Wigglesworth, Jr. (1814–1907) lived in Boston and worked for his father's East India firm at 16 India Wharf. He was also an art collector and often exhibited his pictures at local exhibitions. He lent a picture by Lane called "A (Foggy) Morning" to all three 1864 Boston Athenaeum exhibitions, and an unidentified Lane painting (perhaps the same one) "Morning" (no. 377) to the 1864 Sailors' Fair in Boston. Among other pictures in his collection were three by marine painter George Curtis, five by Martin Johnson Heade, and others by American painters including John Casilear, W. Stanley Haseltine, George Inness, William Trost Richards, and Alfred T. Bricher. (1) The papers of the Wigglesworth family are at the Massachusett Historical Society.
