Commentary

Albert Conant drew the original sketch for this view of Newton, Massachusetts, as seen from Fiske’s Hill. Although printed by the Lane & Scott workshop, it is unlikely that Lane drew the image on the stone. Lane's involvement in the production of the print is unclear but it has been listed with his lithographs since John Wilmerding's 1964 book.
